What to Do
When you lived long enough to see yourself become a villain?
Hide inside your mind for awhile until a half a million
More people see you for who you are
And the steeple from the churches and the cars
That run by and scream out names of the unheard
A little lie that runs out the door, an heirless word
Unspoken like the many times before
I was always broken so many years locked in the store
Our my dreams too real for me?
Will they subside?
When will the subterranean sickness kick towards the end of the sea
When will I try?
To caress a kiss that is worthy of your lips
I don't dare say the phrase
It would be like biting apples in a daze
While we both sip the gaze of our wandering eyes
To my surprise, here it is again
A momentary thought to feel through the pain
Forgetting the sweet taste of your love and entering anothers
Is like a hard almond wrapped around a bow of rich milk cocoa
Too tender to indulge
So I wait as patiently as days gone by
Love of self seldom says hello
So hellish, I say no
To all my aches and desires for life
To understand is to start the blank white
Slate of tomorrow, today
I drown in sorrow, in a red violin
Blood on the circuitry
An numb imagery
Lost in the fog, when I went searching for stars
Remembering how you called my name
That kept me here on Earth, just the same
As a comet hitting our planet in a miracle to save us from the dark rain
Walk in the light now and rest in veritas
No telling of when or where
A hero is to emerge
From darkness comes light
But how long must we wait?
Seasons come unexpectedly as people do
So when the snow falls
Everything in sight becomes lost and muddled in composition
The composer casts his orchestra for the love of the harmonic
A slower and lyrical second movement for the senses to calm
For love to bloom and flowers to break free from the earth
A light graces la acqua in the late summer just for awhile
And so you see, across the sea, finally... a smile
