Painting Time

Instead of an abrupt ending
I decide, to paint new beginnings
A colorful tapestry of flowers in springtime

A future yet written without rhyme
Or reasons, a time to see beyond seasons
To embrace what we have left of our precious earth

I remember, walking into great silence
Finding peace in the hills of lost nature
A cadence familiar, and forgotten amidst the waning of our youth

As we return to our close rooms and see rest as our pedagogy
We rebel against our bodies in haste for the unattainable truths
Laying waste with words and losing our touch and religions
Our common thread

Is to weave a dream of possibility
That is often to say complex melodies
Add to certain works of fire that flicker in the dark night

Of our soul
Only to find our shadows have been dancing with us
We catch hold of a mirror and ask
What am I doing here?

I have got to leave this
Leave at once, this pain cannot get out somehow
Everywhere I turn, our worlds are crashing down and everyone noticing

If this is our cross to carry, a burden to bear
May we dance with love in our eyes and caress so gentle that cares
I am tired and am ready to be home
My love is far and I can't stand to be alone

But I have yet to come to the age of my peers
Being an adult, and living without fear
There is nothing to offer except love in my heart
I breathe my last breath to give you a better start

What is done in love, is well done
We are only a wisp of smoke, but seeing the stars
Makes us dream, courageous changes, blameless,
Spotless in the eyes of the broken

There are chapters of my life that have turned
Faster than water pouring from the faucet
Abrupt endings come and go, until the last one

Time to start painting
