Enough (to free you)

This poem speaks to that unmovable force in our life that is hard to describe with language. But, ultimately, with time and grace, allows us to heal and experience love within. This is an ode to that unmovable force.

Enough (to free you)

piano keys
tingling one after another
Clouds clearing and the sun

Remind me of the ticking clocks & mountaintops
Eyes closed with stillness in my bones, a race car in thought
I wait in silence, to overcome

Gently how I must walk
These days, with bruises from seeking attention
I carry until a kingdom shines on

I keep my head on high
My words gently still tucked deep under
To open the wounds that I still hide, to burst asunder

How do you prepare
To one day let the fates allow and tear you apart
To tell your wounds to slow down

Whisper in their tender forgotten ear
It is okay to cry as loud as you can over what has been done and to feel
Falling from the table, Mr. Decrepit and Dr. Morose

Scales from the eyes
Remove from I, to sit beside
The banquet, the feast of life, anima

For to you I say hello
It's been so long, how are you
My only friend, I've ever known, a hallelujah

For the light shines on the table, and all are welcome
When you see the banquet of love preparing some warmth
Enough, God says, Enough

You are my son and my daughter
Please remember what I taught you

Do not be afraid, for I am
With you, even when you do not understand
For when time stood still and the pain was deep
Into your hands, into the wounds, the work had to be sown
