The Missing Particle

The Missing Particle

For our collective sins
We find the proscriptions
Complex developed living systems
Rhythmically curved around the chasm

So we choose to ignore Mother
and watch our hands burn to a scorch
And then you look out at each other
holes in the sand and the earth's porch

Lovely people, doing unloving things
To each other, forgot how to sing
How to play and be
Do you ever sit and wonder
Who came up with forever
If forever never is happening?

Waves on the wood and vine
Waves that change my mood in time
I wonder if I, spiral out into the white room
With a window, with pain of consequence
I wonder if there are any widows, with pain and second chances
At remembering to kiss their lovers with distant memories at the end of dancing
Across the floor shot with wine
Made from water, Jesus taught us
All that we need to know
How to die to ourselves and let our love grow
From tombs three days old
And remove any material cloth from yesterday's hellish cold
Into renewed minds and hearts with gold
Young man named Neil taught me how to sow the broken and how to live
and keep searching for the voice within
That you can't never give in
When your road gets weary
Leave your eyes open
Unless you want the last light
And maybe if you close them
All your wishes just might
Turn your blindness into sight
Then and only then,
your darkness will find
God
